LVN To ADN ProgramCareer mobility is an area of increasing concern in the nursing profession. The Nursing profession offers many different levels of education to prepare students to upgrade their current level into the healthcare profession. A transition course LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)-to-ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) Program is designed for the LPN/LVN who through their competency and willingness will be able to head successfully in their profession with more opportunities and benefits. This program will provide them an ability to groom their selves more on the basis of prior skills and knowledge. The LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)-to-ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) Program focuses on the skills and knowledge you will need in the real world of Nursing. The RN works in collaboration with other health care professionals to give health care for the patient. This course focuses on the beginning transition to the RN role, the gaining of vital skills, the development of critical thinking in the care of patients, according to the parameters of health management. Admission criteriaAdmission in LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)-to-ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) program is selective and competitive. Candidates with the best overall qualifications will be offered admission. General InformationStatement of official recognition; In order to upgrade your professional educational level and work as a professional nurse, a person must be licensed. To take the national licensing examination (NCLEX-RN), a person must graduate from an approved educational program, which is recognized. Statement of LicensureA person, who has been offender of a criminal act that relates to the duties and responsibilities of the ADN, may be disqualified from getting license. Candidates who have been treated for psychiatric illness or drug or alcohol abuse may also be ineligible for licensure. Applicants with the aforementioned points will be required to submit documentation related to their circumstances. Health & immunization StatusStudents must be physically and emotionally able to meet all program requirements, including the representation of safe nursing care in the clinical setting. The profession of Nursing involves direct contact to patients with transferable and blood-borne diseases. Students are required to submit credentials of a physical examination and vaccinations according to current standards and facility requirements. Comprehensive exit examStudents are required to successfully pass a comprehensive NCLEX-RN exit test prior to program completion. Each student receives a report of the results. This assessment serves to recognize strong and weak areas and provides a valuable study guide to be used in preparation for the national licensing examination. Core curriculumThe LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)-to-ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) program consists of integrated lectures, labs, and clinical practice activities in standard clinical education setting. The program is designed to educate students regarding competent nursing mind in a variety of health care settings and for employment in the field of registered nursing. Nursing courses MUST be taken in sequence, with the exception of electives.
